The Diviners is a play set in the great depression in the town of Zion, Indiana. The play follows a young man named Buddy who received brain damage from a near drowning incident as a child. C.C. Showers, a drifting preacher, finds his way to town and befriends the young boy. Over time, Buddy overcomes his fear of drowning and tragedy unfolds.
