One Act is a competition just like speech or basketball. The cast and crew travel to different schools to compete in conference and districts. The participants watch the other schools perform, and when it is their turn, the students have 10 minutes to set up their whole set, which they make at their schools. Once set up, they start their play and have to finish in 30 minutes or less. In the crowd, there are three judges who critique and grade their performance. When the play is finished, the cast goes to a meeting spot where the judges share their opinions.
